ASSOCIATION RULES 2008 - 2009

1. Entrants for Association membership must be at least 18 years of age.

 

2. Fee for entrance examination:       £100.00.

 

3. Membership fee:         £10.00.        Senior Citizens:    £5.00.

 

4. Championship winners cannot be awarded a Most Promising Prize at the same Festival.  Adjudicators must be informed of this prior to competitions.

 

5. A Teacher in the Association cannot compete solo at any Festival.

 

6. If a dancer stops in a Championship, through error in dance, he or she should be disqualified.  Adjudicators should be informed of this rule before competition.  Competitors may complete their Championship, if desired.

 

7. Ulster qualifiers must be submitted to the Chairperson at the end of the Festival, or if this is not possible, then at the next meeting of the Association.  The Chairperson is responsible for making out the Master Sheet.

 

TO QUALIFY:                       In Championship classes a minimum of 6 places must be awarded.                                                   A maximum of 10 places are available at the Adjudicators                                                  discretion.   Ties are allowed.  If competitor stops in                                                  Championship, through error in dance, no mark to be awarded and                                                  competitor cannot qualify for Ulster Championships.

 

 

8. This Rule to Appear on Each Programme at all FDTA Festivals

 

Any complaint against infringement of the rules must be submitted in writing, and accompanied by £5.00 to any Association member.  The fee will be refunded if the complaint is upheld.  Adjudicator’s decision will be final.

 

9. DISCUSSION IN FDTA MEETINGS IS STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL.

 

10. This Rule to Appear on Each Programme at all FDTA Festivals

 

All winners must present themselves on stage in full costume, including footwear, to receive their prizes.  If a winner does not comply with this rule their prize will be handed to them by one of the stage stewards.  (Special Awards will be an exception to this rule.)

 

11. Under 8 Years and 8-9 Years competitors in a Championship may choose either a long or short introduction for their set dance.  All other competitors will have a short introduction.

 

12. Any School dancing at the FDTA Ulster Championships must pay £50 sponsorship regardless of whether entry is in teams or solos.

 

13.      Damage to Trophies/Cups/Shields etc   -   This is unacceptable and individuals will be            billed for repair or replacement as necessary.

 

14.      Make-up/Fake Tan   -   No competitor up to and including 11 – 12 Years may use            these items unless exceptional medical grounds warrant it.  Wigs are not acceptable at any            age.
